 La Leche League's Purpose and Philosophy





  



                     Continuing Education - 2007

The Conference is designed to enable participants to gain a broader perspective of the health ramifications of breastfeeding, to identify factors that influence the breastfeeding experience, and to develop strategies to assist mothers in overcoming difficulties. Individual course objectives are available upon request.

CEs available to attendees--
    
IBLCE and CDA: 15.25 CERPs and Contact Hours 
                       BRN: 18.3 CPE Hours
                      

CERP designations for sessions offered: 

 “L” CERP sessions are:

1A, 2H, 3I, 4G, 4H, NO1
5A, 6G, 7F, 7G, 8F, 8G

“R” CERP sessions are:

Friday Night Keynote, 3H,  NO2

 “E” CERP session: EB1 

Continuing Education credits offered include those from the following agencies:

International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs) for all Conference CE sessions have been granted by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. CERPs are awarded as follows:

60 min. session  = 1 CERP     75 min. session  = 1.25 CERPs
90 min. session  = 1.5 CERPs   120 min. session  = 2 CERPs

Registered Dietitians and Registered Diet Technicians (ADA)
CPE hours have been requested from the California Dietetic Association. CPE hours will be awarded as follows:

60 min. session  =  1 CPE hour     75 min. session  = 1.25 CPE hours
90 min. session  = 1.5 CPE hours   120 min. session  = 2 CPE hours

Registered Nurses (BRN)
La Leche League of Southern California/Nevada is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #9590, for the following contact hours:

60 min. session  = 1.2 CHs   75 min. session  = 1.5 CHs
90 min. session  = 1.8 CHs 120 min. session  = 2.4 CHs

Sessions designated as Continuing Education offerings are specifically noted in the program — CE and BBS. Any Conference attendee who wants to learn more about breastfeeding topics from a clinical or professional viewpoint may choose a CE session on the Registration Form. In addition to the registration fees, there is an administration fee of $10.00 per session only if taken for credit (maximum $30.00 per day.) This fee applies only to attendees who need the CE credits reported to their respective accrediting agencies.

Registrants paying for CEs will receive a syllabus with their packets. For interested attendees, the syllabus with session outlines and handouts can be pre-ordered for $10 on the Registration Form (Section 7).  The syllabus will also be available for purchase in the Conference Bookstore for $15.
